After we only got to see the finale of "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi" in July 2022, the next series from the "Star Wars" universe is already around the corner - even if not quite as soon as we actually thought it was "Andor" by author Tony Gilroy. It shows how Cassian Andor from "Rogue One" becomes a rebel who leaves all boundaries behind for the supposedly good cause.

Star Wars: Andor was originally scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on August 31, 2022, with two episodes. But with the new trailer, it was surprisingly revealed: Disney has postponed the start at very short notice - "Star Wars: Andor" will only start on September 21, 2022, but then with THREE episodes!

At the beginning of the series, Andor doesn't want anything to do with resistance and rebellion. The cynical loner rejects the uprising against the empire, mainly because he sees little chance of success in it. However, when a homeland is destroyed, his views change abruptly...

Diego Luna isn't the only familiar Star Wars face we'll see in Andor. Joining the game again - and in a very central role - will be former Senator Mon Mothma, who is one of the co-founders of the new rebellion after the fall of the Republic. Also in front of the camera is Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, and Fiona Shaw.

THE ROGUE ONE PREQUEL ANDOR COMES IN 2 PARTS
As previously confirmed, Andor will be released in two parts. The first part of the series consists of a total of 12 episodes and takes place around five years before the events of "Rogue One". The story spans a period of over a year.

The twelve more episodes will come later. When is not yet clear. But these will lead directly to "Rogue One". Those responsible for the series have avoided talking about two seasons, instead speaking of a season of 24 episodes that will be split.

But that's not all: As has already been announced, the third season of "The Mandalorian" will be released on Disney + in February 2023. Katee Sackhoff, who will embody Bo-Katan Kryze, acts as an opponent for Mando and Grog. In addition, the "Star Wars" series "Ahsoka" will also be released in the course of the next year.
