3Movierulz.in: The much-awaited film "Gangubai Kathiawadi", starring Alia Bhatt and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has landed in controversy ahead of its release.


The film is releasing in theaters on February 25, but even before that, people are very angry about the name of the film and the mention of Mumbai areas in it.


Many petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the ban of Gangubai Kathiawadi. While hearing the pending cases on Wednesday, the Supreme Court has suggested the filmmakers change the name. According to a report by the Bar and Bench, a bench comprising Justices Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari was hearing an appeal filed against the Bombay High Court order. In which the stay on summons issued by a Mumbai court in a criminal defamation complaint against the producers of Gangubai Kathiawadi including Alia Bhatt, writer S Hussain Zaidi, and Jane Borges was extended. The film is based on the book by authors S Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday suggested that the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film should be changed. The lawyer for Bhansali Productions told the court that he would talk to his client about the matter. However, this is not the case here. Some residents of Mumbai's Kamathipura have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking deletion of the name of the area from Alia Bhatt star 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The petition said that the film "defames" the entire area by portraying it as a 'red light area' and its women as prostitutes.


Earlier, Gangubai's adopted son Babuji Shah had also sought a ban on the film and the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. The petition, filed by over 55 residents of Kamathipura, states that Bhatt's portrayal of Gangubai in the film is completely This will adversely affect the area and the women and girls living there.
