"The biggest film in my career is 'Liger'. This is the most physically demanding movie. It took a year and a half for the body transformation. Performance wise this is a challenging movie. I have given everything to do justice to the wonderful story given by Puri," said Vijay Devarakonda. Directed by Puri Jagannath, the movie 'Liger' stars Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey. Produced by Puri Jagannath, Charmy Kaur, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta, this film is releasing on the 25th of this month. Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey participated in the press meet organized in this context. Vijay Devarakonda shared the features on this occasion.
Before starting my career as an actor, I worked as an assistant director under Teja to increase my contacts in the industry. Puri Jagannath, however, gave a good salary to the assistant directors, so my father told me to join him. I went to Purigari's office, but could not meet him. I met him after the film 'Dear Comrade'. We wanted to make 'Liger' as a Telugu film. But after hearing the whole story, we felt that the whole country can tell this story, so we made it a Pan India film.
The Telugu audience is saying that 'Liger' looks like a Hindi movie. But this is a true Telugu film. We are showing our film in India. For the promotion of this movie, wherever I went in India, I got love from people on a large scale. Such a never-to-be-forgotten love started from here. Because of that love, we are confident in 'Liger'. India will celebrate on August 25.
My mother was scared when there was an action scene with Mike Tyson in 'Liger'. He is a real fighter and has no acting experience. That's why I was really afraid that I might get hit, after seeing my movie 'Arjun Reddy', Karan Johar called me and asked me to tell him if I have an idea to do it in Hindi. He asked us not to listen to the story of 'liger'. First I struggled for three days to do the stuttering role in this film.
After that, there was a connection with the character. He had to work out five to six hours a day for his role in 'Liger'. When I was a kid, I used to wait for chicken on Sundays, but the pieces were not enough. But after eating chicken three meals a day for two years, I became disgusted. When I was a child, I used to eat with my heart, not what I found, but remember that, I used to say to myself, 'I have found it now... eat it.
Ananya Pandey said – “When Puri and Charmigars told the story of 'Liger', it felt exciting. It is a pleasure to come to the South with this film. I always wanted to act with my father. They used to ask him to make a mass commercial entertainer movie. It is happy to fulfill two wishes at the same time with 'Liger'.
