Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 review: The feel is the same but the story is new
Priyadarshan's psychological thriller film Bhool Bhulaiyaa released in 2007, is considered a film ahead of its time. The Bollywood horror-comedy genre was probably not that familiar at that time. This is the reason why this experiment of novelty created history and today the maze is included in the list of cult films. After almost 15 years, the film's franchise has come with a new story, new director, and new star cast among the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 fans. Yes, it would not be right to compare this film with the old one. The feel of the film is the same but the story is completely new.
The film begins with the accidental friendship of Ruhaan Randhawa (Karthik Aryan) and Reet (Kiara Advani), where Ruhaan is Mastmoula and a traveler, while Reet has left Rajasthan and gone to Manali to study medicine. However, Reet is now going back to her home, where preparations for her marriage are going on. Reet met with Ruhaan in Manali and just misses him at his behest, which later falls into the ditch. In such a situation, the news of Reet's death has reached the family. When Reet calls home to inquire about her well-being, she learns that her sister is in love with her fiancé. Now Reet decides to maintain the rumor of her death. This is where the story progresses. Rooh accompanies Reet to Rajasthan, where she learns that Manjulika's spirit has been imprisoned for the past 18 years in a room in the haveli. The film takes you on a thrilling journey with many twists and turns and suspense. To know and understand which you have to go to the theater.
Direction and technical
Anees Bazmee, the king of comedy filmmaking, has attempted the horror-comedy genre for the first time and he has proved successful to a great extent in this endeavor. Many scenes of the film make you laugh and laugh, while in some scenes you are even forced to pull your eyes out of fear. The scintillating blend of comedy and horror takes you on a beautiful ride of entertainment. The film's one-liners and excellent dialogues are its life, for which writers Akash Kaushik and Farhad Shamji will have to be praised. Talking about the editing of Bunty Negi, the first half of the film keeps you completely hooked, while in the ending part of the second half, the story seems a bit stretched. Logics are also found in some places, where there is a lack of tightness in editing. Manu Anand's cinematography was amazing. The film appears larger than life in every tone. Be it the wide shots of the mansion or the small corner of the room, every angle has been beautifully shot. Sandeep Shirodkar's background score adds energy to the story. If Pritam's music is compared with the old film, then he has not been able to reach his own benchmark. Ganesh Acharya narrated the story of Chikni Jasmine, Chamma-Chamma, and O Antawa
There was tremendous pressure on Karthik regarding the character of Rooh Baba, he inevitably had to be compared with Akshay Kumar. Although Karthik has lived his character with full confidence throughout the film. Maybe this film will prove to be the turning point for him in Karthik's career. Kiara had raised hopes during the trailer, but her character has not been given much scope in the film. Tabu is the life of the film, Tabu can surprise you with her strong performance with many twists and turns. Chhota Pandit Rajpal Yadav, the only character who came from Bhool-Bhulaiya, reminds you of the old film somewhere. As astrologer Baba, the pair of Sanjay Mishra and his wife Ashwini Kalsekar make tremendous entertainment. Actors like Milind Gunaji, Rajesh Sharma, and Amar Upadhyay have done full justice to their characters.
see or not
Bhool Bhulaiyaa movie is a clean family entertainment film. If you are going to watch the story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa ahead, then you are going to be disappointed. Although it is claimed that this film, adorned with a good story, new genre, and perfect star cast, is full of Paisa Vasool. This film is a treat for the fans of Karthik. Must watch in the theater for the best experience.
