Production of the new episodes has been underway since last October after being forcibly paralyzed at the peak of the pandemic.

Filming for the fourth season of Stranger Things has been in place for exactly a month, although details about the new episodes remain scarce. However, we know that the new installment will bring Back Hopper (David Harbour) after Hawkins' police chief disappeared with the portal explosion to the Reverse World hiding under the town's new mall, and the titles of the first episodes have also been released, which have already given rise to some theories.

What else to expect from the fourth season of what is undoubtedly one of Netflix's most successful series? Well, in the words of series producer Shawn Levy, the new installment may be the best to date. As Levy explained in statements to Collider, the delay suffered as a result of the industry's hacking as a result of the Covid-19 could eventually have become a good ally for the Duffer brothers, even though we have to wait longer for its premiere, initially scheduled for the first months of 2021.

Levy, producer, and screenwriter of Stranger Things and now at the helm of the new Dash & Lily platform series, cannot confirm the approximate release date for the long-awaited fourth season, but he has no hesitation in explaining the positive part of the delay:

The pandemic has greatly delayed filming and therefore the release of our season 4, whose date is yet to be determined. But it has impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time in the show's history, to write the full season before filming it and to have time to rewrite in a way they had hardly had before, so the quality of the scripts is exceptional. Maybe better than ever.

Following the filming in March 2020, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer announced in June that they had completed the scripts for the fourth season, nearly four months before starting filming again in early October. During that time, the writers have fully fine-tuned every detail and strengthened the plots of the new episodes, which will be kept waiting but for which, now there is no doubt, we can have very high expectations.
