For a long time, different studios have tried to adapt video games to the big screen without much success - some tests are Assassin's Creed, Warcraft or Max Payne - but Jeff Fowler's film has ended with it. In this way, Sonic is positioned above Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, the production that until now had the record.

The director has been delighted with the good results and has shared a message of thanks in his official Twitter account. "There's a word in my head this morning and it's gratitude. Thanks to the wonderful people who helped me make 'Sonic the Hedgehog' and, most importantly, thanks to the fans for staying with us and getting an extraordinary end record of the week".

And that, at first, nobody would have bet on her. As you will remember - or have heard in recent days - the first advances of the film did not convince the public. Instead, a movement was generated against the first version of Sonic that forced the tape team to get back into the design room to work on a new look. This touch-up was worth it and, according to team members, it is one of the elements that has taken the tape to the top of the box office.

In the movie, Sonic must travel to Earth to save his planet. Helped by a new human friend, Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), he has to do everything possible to accomplish his mission while fleeing the government and the tricks of the villain Doctor Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey).
Sonic The movie continues in cinemas.
