David Stephan, one of the animators who worked on the iconic sequence of 'The Endless Cycle' and on the design of the hyenas states the following: "If you probe to the original film team, most will tell you: 'Why? You really had to do that? It's a little painful. " Stephan disapproves of the hyper-realistic version of the characters in the new version, because, according to him, the story has less impact. But not all animators of the 90's version nest against. Dave Bossert, who worked on the visual effects of the original, believes that the remake is a great tribute to the history of animation.
