You often do not get to see Edward Norton ("American History X") anymore. In "Motherless Brooklyn", he not only took over the lead role, but also the director.

His glory days have long since surpassed action icon, Bruce Willis. At least for some time now, the now 64-year-old is trying in vain to connect to his previous successes from "Die Hard" times - solid films such as "Once Upon A Time In Venice" or "Glass" are among the absolute highlights. On numerous B-Actioner from the last years followed with "Motherless Brooklyn" but now maybe something like a U-turn. THAT'S WHAT'S IN "MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN"

New York, mid-fifties: Private detective Lionel Essrog (Edward Norton) faces a tricky task as he seeks to clarify the murder of his only friend and mentor Frank Minna (Bruce Willis). The fact that he can only rely on a few loose clues, but stops him as little as his health - because Essrog suffers from Tourette's syndrome and thus under uncontrollable muscle twitching. However, when the real estate shark Moses Randolph (Alec Baldwin) arouses the interest of the investigator, a trace seems to open up. And soon, Essrog even gets support from his brother Paul (Willem Dafoe) ...

EDWARD NORTON IS BACK!

Norton, known from films such as "American History X" and "Fight Club", experienced his wedding as an actor around the turn of the millennium, but has been seen as supporting actor in recent years. With "Motherless Brooklyn" he is now not only finally the main character, but at the same time takes over for the second time in his career (after "Faith is everything!") The director. The script also comes from him, but the story is not - because "Motherless Brooklyn" is based on the same novel by author Jonathan Lethem.

In addition to Norton and Willis, there are also some other familiar faces to see in the film adaptation: Willem Dafoe, Alec Baldwin and the famous from "The Cloverfield Paradox" known Gugu Mbatha-Raw. They will all be on screen shortly before Christmas, when "Motherless Brooklyn" will be released on December 12, 2019, in India cinemas.
