Captain America: Brave New World was released as a big new film this weekend, providing a solid start to Marvel's 2025 films. It earned $92.4 million internationally and $88.4 million in the United States.The film is expected to cross the $100 million mark by the end of its first weekend. It became one of the best domestic openings during the President's Day holiday, as well as the highest opening ever for any film in 2025.
Although the film received mixed reviews from critics, audiences are cheering for Sam Wilson's performance. Sam Wilson is playing the role of Captain America for the first time. However, some critics described the film as a "B-movie."
While Sam Wilson's rise as the new Captain America has been successful in impressing audiences, there are more movies coming in the MCU. As Mickey 17 is all set to release on March 7, it's difficult for the films that came before to hold their ground and add to it.
