Universal has reported that the necessary measures have been taken to ensure the feasibility of filming and the health safety of the equipment.

The filming of Jurassic World: Dominion, the third installment of the dinosaur trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, plans to shoot part of its story in Malta at the end of August, but, as Deadline reports, the film crew will be reduced to what is strictly necessary because of Covid-19's increase in re-openings on the Mediterranean island. That's why neither Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard nor Sam Neill will travel to Malta.

According to the publication, four members of the Jurassic World: Dominion team tested positive for Covid-19 when they were already on the island. They are quarantined, isolated; but the situation has put production on alert. A Universal Pictures spokesman told Deadline:

"Jurassic World: Dominion' will have a significant presence in Malta with a second unit team filming there from late August to September. We will work with great caution, as we have done during production. The first unit will no longer film in Malta to keep our presence on the ground to a minimum. We would like to thank the Government of Malta and the Film Commission for their full support and look forward to successful filming in this beautiful country."

As is happening in much of Europe, Malta has seen the number of coronavirus cases increase severely during this Month of August. The UK added the country last week to its list of places whose travelers are subject to mandatory quarantine for 14 days. There are around 600 active cases on the island and as of today, nightclubs, bars, concert halls, and sports clubs close their doors in an attempt to stop the growing number of cases.

Deadline reports that around 200 people will work on the filming of Jurassic World: Dominion in Malta, half as planned, between local professionals and members of UK production. Among other safety measures, PCR tests will be performed frequently.

Jurassic World: Dominion continues the adventures of Jurassic World: The Fallen World with the same protagonists as previous installments, Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, who are joined by the original cast of Jurassic Park: Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum. Jurassic World's cast: Dominion is completed by Campbell Scott, DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, B.D. Wong, Isabella Sermon, Daniella Pineda, and Justice Smith.
